Position Overview
Safesiteworks is seeking a Database and Network Professional responsible for maintaining secure IT infrastructure, monitoring network activity, managing servers, and supporting cybersecurity operations. The role combines network administration, server management, cybersecurity monitoring, and infrastructure deployment, ensuring that the company’s digital platforms and internal systems operate securely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers
- Monitor server performance, uptime, and system health
- Manage virtual machines and containerized environments
- Perform system updates, patching, and maintenance
- Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery procedures
- Manage storage systems and database servers
Network Administration
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure
- Manage routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Configure VPN access and remote connectivity solutions
- Implement network segmentation and security controls
- Maintain DNS, DHCP, and routing configurations
Security Operations
- Monitor logs and security alerts across servers and networks
- Identify suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate remediation
- Implement intrusion detection and security monitoring systems
- Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
Cloud, DevOps & Database
Cloud Infrastructure
- Support deployment and maintenance of cloud environments
- Monitor security and access control within cloud infrastructure
- Manage virtual networks, storage services, and compute instances
- Implement secure identity and access management practices
Deployment & DevOps Support
- Assist in deploying application updates and infrastructure changes
- Configure CI/CD deployment pipelines
- Manage container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Monitor application logs and deployment performance
- Ensure secure configuration of development and production environments
Database Administration
- Maintain and monitor SQL or NoSQL database systems
- Configure database backups and replication
- Monitor database performance and query optimization
- Implement database security and access controls
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of experience working with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, or network administration
- Experience managing production servers and network environments
Language Skills
- Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken
- Danish language skills are considered an advantage but are not required
Technical Skills
- Linux server administration
- Windows Server environments
- Network configuration and troubleshooting
- Firewall and VPN configuration
- Email infrastructure and SMTP configuration
- SIEM and security monitoring tools
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
Additional Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to manage infrastructure in production environments
- Experience documenting technical procedures and infrastructure architecture
